FOLK CENTER FOUNDATION
Our Foundation aims to collect, preserve and disseminate the values of folk art. The means to achieve these goals are:
-Operating a dance club for children and adults
-Organising intensive dance classes
-Organising ethnographic tours
-Organising excursions to villages in different ethnographic regions
-Organising camps
-Participation in events
-Starting up dance festivals in various localities
-Connecting with other people and organisations
The Folk Center Foundation was established in 1996.
The Foundation is chaired by Zsolt Ferencz, with Csaba Czerán and Attila Puskás as vice-presidents.
Our key activities so far:
- Since its establishment, the foundation has taken over the running of the dance house in Târgu Mures.
- It has organised collecting trips in the fields and in Moldavia with the help of the ÖVES band.
At the invitation of the MADISZ in Satu Mare, it organised a dance week in Satu Mare. In 1998 he organised the Satu Mare Folk Dance Camp.
He organised several intensive folk dance courses in Târgu Mures.
The foundation has close links with the Pro Europa League, the local organisation of Outward Bound Romania and several Hungarian organisations with similar interests.
The organisation of the XXV Maros Folk Music and Folk Dance Camp 2023 is in progress.
We believe that one of the most important tasks of every nation is to know, maintain and cultivate its heritage and culture.
